Instagram introduces separate caption feature in carousel posts

Photo-sharing platform Instagram has started introducing a new feature from June 18, under which users can now write separate captions for each slide of a carousel post.

As soon as someone swipes on photos or videos, the caption below will also automatically change. That is, now each slide can be shown with its specific context.

Meta, the owner of Instagram, has called it a long-requested feature. Users, creators and brands have been waiting for this facility for many years.

Previously, only one caption could be given in carousel posts, which was visible uniformly at the bottom of the entire post.

The new update is very convenient. When creating a carousel post, the option of ‘single caption’ and ‘multiple caption’ will now appear in the caption section.

If you select ‘multiple captions’, you will be able to go to each slide and write separate captions. The caption will also change automatically when swiping.

This feature will be especially useful for tutorials, travelogues, product showcases, and photo stories.

This feature is currently available to a limited number of users and will be rolling out to more people soon.
