T20 series against Sri Lanka, major changes likely in national team

Several changes are expected in the squad that represented Pakistan at the Asian Games for the upcoming T20 series against Sri Lanka; however, the current captain is likely to retain the leadership role.

According to media reports, Sahibzada Farhan, who led the national team at the Asian Games, may continue as captain for the three-match series against Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile, the return of experienced players to the national team is anticipated. Babar Azam, Shadab Khan, Naseem Shah, and Fakhar Zaman are likely to be included in the squad, whereas Ahmed Daniyal, Saad Masood, Haider Ali, and Mohammad Wasim Jr. are expected to be dropped.

Series Against Sri Lanka

The three-match T20 series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be played in Rawalpindi from October 9 to October 13.

Players selected for the national squad are expected to report in Islamabad for the series. The Sri Lankan team has already arrived in Islamabad, having reached Pakistan last night.

Thus, the anticipated changes to the national squad ahead of the series could see the return of experienced players, though the situation will only become clear once the final squad is announced.
