New parcel tracking feature introduced in Google Wallet

Google has introduced a new feature in its Wallet through which users will be able to track their online orders and parcels directly in the Wallet app.

Under the new feature, Google will automatically identify digital receipts and tracking numbers in the user’s Gmail inbox and use them to display the latest parcel information on the Google Wallet home screen. Parcels that are arriving soon will be highlighted with payment cards, while the user will also be able to see more detailed tracking information.

After receiving the parcel, the user can also remove it from the list, while this process is expected to be done automatically later.

According to Google, this feature will not affect the emails in Gmail or their order.

Currently, this facility is only available in the US and according to Google, it supports the email formats of most major retailers. However, its full compatibility for all online stores is not guaranteed.

To take advantage of this feature, users will need to go to Gmail settings and enable Google Workspace Smart Features.
