Important ECC meeting, approval of several projects including expansion of Prime Minister's House Program and uniform electricity charges

The Economic Coordination Committee of the Cabinet met under the chairmanship of Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb in which several important projects were approved.

The most important decision is the expansion of the Prime Minister’s Home Program, the revised framework of which will now include overseas Pakistanis and the private sector so that more people can benefit from this program. A major decision was taken in the electricity sector that uniform system charges will be implemented for all electricity distribution companies across the country, including K-Electric, which will solve the problem of inequality in electricity rates in different regions.

In the electric vehicle sector, the second phase of the Pakistan Accelerated Vehicle Electrification Program was approved and the performance and accessibility of electric vehicles will be improved under the new EV policy. Gas supply for the rehabilitation of the National Steel Complex was also approved, however, this supply will be subject to tariff and gas availability.

In other important financial decisions, a technical supplementary grant of Rs 2.5 billion was approved for the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports, which will be used to pay salaries, production equipment and dues. Rs 350 million was approved for the operational expenses of the Danish School in Islamabad, Rs 100 million for the construction of the Faiz Ahmed Faiz Complex in Narowal, and Rs 59.6 million for the celebrations of Independence Day and Muarka-e-Haq.
