According to a new report, Google is working on a new feature for Android users, which will allow them to automatically back up their phone data directly to a Windows PC without the cloud.
According to the report, this backup will take place via Wi-Fi when the Android phone and Windows computer are connected to the same network.
A secret information page related to this upcoming feature has been discovered in the latest version of Google Play Services, which hints at this plan.
To use this feature, users will have to go to the Quick Share app on their Windows computer and activate it, while it will also be necessary to log in with the same Google account on both the phone and the computer.
Users will be able to select their favorite photos and videos that will be automatically backed up to the computer.
The report also states that Samsung phones have not been included in this feature for now. It is being suggested that this is due to Samsung's own Smart Switch app, which already provides multiple backup facilities. However, it does not have an automatic backup feature.
According to the report, this new feature is likely to be available for all other Android phones except Samsung. However, Google has not made an official announcement about this yet.
