Four papers of the Peshawar Board's matriculation supplementary exams postponed

Due to the prevailing political situation in Peshawar, the Matric Supplementary Examinations (Second) 2026 papers scheduled for October 7 to 10 have been postponed. The Peshawar Board of Education has clarified that new dates for these exams will be announced later.

According to a board spokesperson, all papers for the Oriental Languages Examinations 2026 scheduled for October 7, 8, 9, and 10 have been postponed. Candidates have been advised not to rely on unverified information regarding the exams until the new date sheet is issued.

Papers Scheduled After October 10 to Proceed as Usual

According to the Peshawar Board's Controller of Examinations, no changes have currently been made to papers scheduled after October 10. These exams will take place on the originally scheduled dates and times, in accordance with the previously issued date sheet.

The board administration has advised candidates to consult the official Peshawar Board website for the new dates of the postponed papers.

Situation Due to the Long March

The decision to postpone the exams was made in light of the ongoing political situation in the province. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) launched a long march from Lakki Marwat on October 4, following the conclusion of negotiations between the government and the opposition—which lasted approximately 10 hours—without reaching a consensus.

The march began in Lakki Marwat and has reached Kohat via Karak; according to the schedule, it is now set to proceed to Peshawar.

To maintain law and order in view of the long march, approximately 30,000 police personnel have been deployed in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Attock, while shipping containers have also been placed on various roads. The federal government has also extended the deployment of Rangers in Islamabad until October 15. Previously, approximately 3,000 Rangers personnel had been deployed in Islamabad until October 5.
