WhatsApp to introduce separate cloud backup feature for iPhone users

WhatsApp is working on a new cloud backup feature for iPhone users, which will allow users to save their chat backup files directly to WhatsApp servers instead of Apple's iCloud.
According to technology website WhatsApp Beta Info, the feature is still in the development stage and is currently not available for beta users.
Currently, WhatsApp chats on iPhone are backed up to iCloud. However, Apple provides only 5GB of cloud storage to free users, which is shared with photos, documents, device backups, and other app data.
WhatsApp backups may soon fill this space due to the abundance of photos and videos.
To solve this problem, WhatsApp is introducing its own cloud backup service, after which iPhone users will be able to choose either iCloud or WhatsApp servers for backup as per their choice.
According to the report, iCloud will continue to be the default backup option, while users who want to use it will not need to make any changes to their existing settings.
This new feature is expected to provide users with more flexibility for backup, better privacy, and alternative options for additional storage.
