The federal government has decided to import 1 million tons of wheat immediately to meet the needs of the provinces.
According to Express News, keeping in mind the policy of providing cheap and quality wheat to the public, detailed consultations were held between the federation and all the provinces on the availability, prices and supply situation of wheat, in which it was decided by mutual consent that the wheat reserves available with PASCO will be provided immediately according to the needs of the provinces.
It was further decided that since the total needs of the provinces are more than the available reserves of PASCO, 1 million tons of wheat will be imported immediately so that the country's needs can be met and stability in the market is maintained.
In this regard, Federal Minister for Food Security Rana Tanveer Hussain has said that the federal government is determined to provide cheap and quality wheat to the public, PASCO's wheat reserves will be provided immediately according to the needs of the provinces.
Rana Tanveer Hussain said that 1 million tons of wheat will be imported immediately to meet the needs of the provinces. By importing 1 million tons of wheat, the country's needs will be met and stability in the market will be maintained.
