PCB makes major changes to national squad after Lord's Test

The Pakistan Cricket Board has made major changes to the national Test squad after the conclusion of the Lord's Test and released 7 players. The same number of new players have been added to the team in their place.

The players who were dropped from the squad include Muhammad Rizwan, Imam-ul-Haq, Salman Ali Agha, Ali Usman, Aamir Jamal, Muhammad Owais Zafar and Khurram Shahzad.

7 players including Saim Ayub, Abdullah Fazal and Arafat Minhas have been made part of the squad as their replacements. Saim Ayub has played 8 Test matches for Pakistan while Abdullah Fazal has played 2.

Arafat Minhas has also represented the national team. He has played 3 One-Day Internationals and 4 Twenty20 Internationals.

Other newly added players include left-arm fast bowler Muhammad Imran Jr., wicketkeeper-batsman Saad Baig, all-rounders Muhammad Imran and Razaullah. Saad Baig was also declared the Player of the Tournament of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2025,26.

According to the PCB, all the new players will join the national squad before the third Test against England.

There have also been changes to the coaching staff. The PCB has also released Sarfaraz Ahmed and Umar Gul from their responsibilities, while Mike Hesson and Ashley Noffke will join the coaching staff in their place.
