Pakistan Goods Transport Alliance condemns increase in petroleum product prices, threatens strike

Pakistan Goods Transport Alliance President Malik Shahzad Awan strongly condemned the federal government’s decision to increase the prices of petroleum products and rejected the change and announced that a nationwide strike call will be given at any time.
Pakistan Goods Transport Alliance President Malik Shahzad Awan said that we reject the federal government’s decision to change the prices of petroleum products on a daily basis and consultations are underway with transport associations across Pakistan in this regard.
He warned that a nationwide strike will be announced very soon against the wrong policies of the federal government, transporters across Pakistan should be ready, a nationwide strike call will be given at any time.
President Goods Transport Alliance said that our transport is stalled due to the wrong policies of the federal government and the continuous increase in the price of diesel, the federal government is making decisions that are hostile to transporters.
He demanded that chambers and federations across Pakistan play a role in this matter.
Malik Shahzad Awan demanded that the increase in toll tax and withholding tax should also be withdrawn immediately. We are demanding relief from the federal government in toll tax, withholding tax, and motorway and traffic police challans, but the federal and provincial governments are not providing any relief to goods transporters.
He said that in the larger interest of the country, vehicles are being operated at a loss and our transport business is greatly affected by the war situation, but the federal government is forcing us to go on a nationwide strike.
Malik Shahzad Awan further said that the promises made by the federal and provincial governments during the nationwide strike in December should also be implemented.
