Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production Haroon Akhtar Khan says that Pakistan-China partnership will form the basis of a new industrial revolution in the country.
He expressed these views while addressing a ceremony to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Seagulls Group (Pakistan) and Hebei Juhang Energy Technology Group (China) at the Movenpick Hotel, Centaurus Islamabad, a major milestone in industrial cooperation between Pakistan and China.
Under the MoU, cooperation will be promoted in the areas of advanced lithium-ion batteries, energy storage systems, electric vehicle charging infrastructure and modern technologies related to clean energy.
Speaking at the ceremony, Haroon Akhtar Khan congratulated Seagulls Group and Hebei Juhang Energy Technology Group on this historic partnership and said that this initiative will prove to be very important for Pakistan’s industrial development, promotion of modern technology and increase in investment.
Haroon Akhtar Khan said that through planning, continuous hard work and high-quality commitment, China has achieved global leadership in electric vehicles, battery technology, renewable energy, artificial intelligence and modern industrial sectors, which is an example for developing countries to follow.
He said that we are creating facilities, not barriers, for investors. The proposed project to manufacture and assemble lithium-ion batteries in Pakistan is not just an investment but the foundation of a new industrial ecosystem that will combine Chinese technology and expertise with Pakistan’s industrial capacity, business potential and geographical importance.
He said that the use of solar energy is increasing rapidly in Pakistan, due to which the need for reliable energy storage systems has increased more than ever. Local production of modern lithium-ion batteries will reduce dependence on imports, strengthen the supply of clean energy, create high-quality employment opportunities, promote local engineering capabilities and enable the development of supporting industrial sectors.
