Apple declares iPhone X obsolete, official repairs are no longer possible

Technology giant Apple has moved its popular smartphone iPhone X to the most restrictive support policy level, ‘Obsolete’. The company has since ended official hardware repairs and replacement parts for the device.
Apple’s support documentation now describes the iPhone X as Obsolete. Under this status, Apple and its authorized service providers generally do not provide repairs or parts for the device.
This simply means that users who are still using the iPhone X will find it difficult to get official Apple repairs for issues such as a broken screen, weak battery or a faulty charging port.
Apple usually declares a product obsolete after more than seven years after it has been discontinued, but the final decision is made by the company itself. The iPhone X was launched in November 2017 and was discontinued about ten months later in September 2018.
Obsolete status is stricter than Apple’s vintage status. In some cases, repairs are possible on vintage devices if parts are available.
The iPhone X was a milestone in Apple's history because it marked a major change in the company's smartphone design. It was the first iPhone to feature Face ID and an OLED display. It eliminated the traditional Home button and Touch ID and introduced a nearly edge-to-edge notch display. This change not only changed the face of Apple's flagship phones, but also had a significant impact on the design trends of the smartphone industry for the next several years.
