Announcement of scholarship program for Pakistani students at American universities

The government has introduced a new educational program to open avenues for Pakistani students to pursue higher education in renowned universities in the United States.

During the visit of Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui to the United States, meetings were held with representatives of MIT, Harvard, Princeton, Columbia and Georgetown University, in which educational opportunities for Pakistani students were discussed.

The government has decided to allocate Rs 1.5 billion for this program under the “Pakistan Fund for Education”. This amount will provide financial assistance to selected students to continue their education in higher educational institutions in the United States.

Under the program, a student will be able to get support of up to $ 29,000 annually. Special importance will be given to fields such as artificial intelligence, cyber security, data science and biotechnology in the scholarship. Agriculture and public policy are also among the priority areas.

Pakistani Ambassador to the United States Rizwan Saeed Sheikh has assured all possible support for the program.

According to Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Pakistan is advancing global educational partnerships by building on the potential and skills of its youth. He says that such programs will give Pakistani students more opportunities to prove their talents in the best institutions in the world.
