Air India's loss exceeds $2 billion due to closure of Pakistani airspace and Middle East crisis

According to a Reuters report, the annual loss of Indian airline Air India has exceeded $2 billion. There are two main reasons for this loss, one is the ongoing tension in the Middle East and the other is the closure of airspace by Pakistan. The report of Air India’s shareholder Singapore Airlines said that the annual profit has decreased by 57.4 percent and this situation is likely to worsen in the coming months.

The biggest disadvantage of the airspace closure is that Air India has to take long alternative routes for flights to Europe and Western countries, which is increasing fuel costs and flight duration. In the last few months, the airline has stopped many international flights and has also seen a significant reduction in investment.

This loss has come at a time when Air India was trying to rebuild after being bought by the Tata Group, but external factors have badly affected this recovery process.
