The federal government spent Rs916 billion on development projects in the last fiscal year

The federal government spent a total of Rs916 billion on development projects during the last fiscal year, which is Rs84 billion less than the set target of Rs1,000 billion.
According to the Ministry of Planning, 33 federal ministries and divisions spent Rs611 billion in development funds, Rs59.43 billion on schemes of members of parliament, Rs192.55 billion on projects of provinces and special areas, Rs137.49 billion on water projects, and Rs304.91 billion on corporations including the Power Division.
These include Rs 182 billion for NHA, Rs 122.55 billion for NTDC and PEPCO, Rs 34.89 billion for higher education projects, Rs 27 billion for federal education, Rs 13 billion for national health projects, Rs 15.23 billion for interior ministry projects, Rs 9.36 billion for IT projects, Rs 8 billion for defense division, Rs 19 billion for planning division, Rs 13.93 billion for housing projects, Rs 5.46 billion for industries, and Rs 2.28 billion for climate change projects.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs did not use any development funds in the last fiscal year.
