Petrol pump owners write to Prime Minister, demand end to weekly price changes

The All Pakistan Petrol Pump Owners Association has sent a formal letter to Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, raising its voice against the policy of weekly price revision of petroleum products. The Association’s Vice Chairman Noman Ali Butt has demanded in the letter that the weekly schedule be immediately abolished and the previous 15-day system be restored.

The letter has clarified that pump owners are facing severe operational and financial instability due to changing prices every week. Continuous fluctuations are destroying businesses, creating complications in accounting and affecting customer behavior. Owners are having to bear unnecessary additional burden and it is not possible to maintain stability in the market.

The Association is of the view that the return of the 15-day system will bring stability to the business, improve operational efficiency and provide a balanced environment for all owners, dealers and customers. The letter has expressed the hope that the Prime Minister will take immediate notice of this matter.
