Pakistan has moved ahead of Australia to reach the fourth position in the ODI rankings

Following victories against Sri Lanka and England, the Pakistan cricket team has climbed one spot in the ICC ODI rankings to reach the fourth position. The national team has moved ahead of Australia and is now just one rating point behind South Africa, who currently hold the third spot.
After a string of successes in the ongoing tri-nation series in Rawalpindi, Pakistan’s rating points have reached 103, while South Africa sits in third place with 104 points.
India leads the rankings with 115 points, followed by New Zealand in second place with 109 points, while Australia has slipped to the fifth position.

Victory against England fuels rise in rankings
A standout moment in Pakistan’s recent run of success was the 87-run victory over England. In this match, young all-rounder Arafat Minhas delivered an impressive performance with both bat and ball.
Arafat Minhas scored 59 runs off 58 balls and later claimed six English wickets for 40 runs.
Pakistan’s innings got off to a difficult start, with the team losing four wickets for just 81 runs. However, a 79-run knock from Hassan Nawaz, a half-century by Arafat Minhas, and an aggressive 39-run innings from Faheem Ashraf helped the team reach a total of 302.
In pursuit of the target, the entire English side was bowled out for 215, resulting in an 87-run victory for Pakistan.
An opportunity to overtake South Africa
Pakistan is now just one point away from surpassing South Africa in the ODI rankings. If the national team maintains its winning streak, there could be an opportunity to further improve its ranking.
