Rain prevented the quarter-final match between Pakistan and Hong Kong at the 2026 Asian Games from starting; consequently, Pakistan advanced to the semi-finals based on a superior world ranking.
The first quarter-final was scheduled to take place at the Kuroji Sports Park in Nishin, Japan; however, persistent rain made it impossible even to conduct the toss.
Decision Following Match Cancellation
The match was cancelled as the rain continued. With play failing to commence by the scheduled time, the outcome of the contest between Pakistan and Hong Kong was determined based on world rankings.
As Pakistan held a higher world ranking than Hong Kong, the national team secured a spot in the semi-finals. Pakistan will now take the field in the semi-final, aiming to reach the Asian Games final.
