Major changes under consideration at ICC meeting, Red and Pink Balls will be allowed to be used in the same Test

Several key rule changes will be considered at the next ICC meeting and, if approved, will come into effect from October 1, 2026.
The most interesting proposal is that if the game continues under floodlights after bad weather during a Test match, the Red Ball can be replaced with a Pink Ball. However, this change will be possible only if both teams and the umpires agree to it, just as the consent of both is required for DRS.
Regarding illegal bowling action, it is proposed to give umpires access to Hawk-Eye Data so that the action of bowlers who bend their arms more than 15 degrees can be checked during the match itself.
In addition, a proposal is also being considered to reduce the interval between innings in T20 International matches from 20 minutes to 15 minutes. In ODI cricket, head coaches can be allowed to go on the field and talk to the players during the drinks break, while this facility is already available in T20.
