Former Disney child star Raquel Lee Bolleau accuses company of abuse

Former Disney child star Raquel Lee Bolleau has alleged that she was repeatedly sexually assaulted by a former Disney employee while filming a movie when she was 14 years old. She says the company failed to take effective action despite clear signs of the situation.

The actress has filed a civil negligence lawsuit against the Walt Disney Company in Los Angeles County Superior Court.

Raquel claims that a middle-aged male employee provided her with alcohol and repeatedly raped her during a stay in Salt Lake City in 2001 while filming the Disney Channel movie “The Poof Point.” One incident also occurred on a flight back to California.

The lawsuit says that adults involved in the production noticed noticeable changes in her behavior and performance. She also appeared ill and intoxicated, but the company failed to investigate the matter.

Raquel alleges that she was instead declared “out of control” and that another of her expected roles was also canceled.

The actress is seeking economic damages, mental and emotional distress, legal costs and punitive damages, although the total amount was not disclosed.

Disney has not yet responded to the lawsuit.
